Welcome! I look forward to hearing more about your experiences. I was born in and spent until my early 20's trying to make myself believe it. It's not easy to untangle your mind from this cult, but life is so much better now.

By locking your man-cave you are setting a boundary your wife seems unable to respect.

Breaking News, London: Van Ploughs into Pedestrians
by Simon in3 male passengers then get out and start stabbing / shooting people according to early reports.. but it could have been anyone for any reason, who knows, possibly jehovahs witnesses or amish.. maybe we'll never know the reason but i'm sure there will be people praying for those involved and hashtags.. thus solving the problem once and for all.. just "life in a big city" according to the muslim mayor of london, sadiq khan..

I don't like the idea of the police not being armed, especially in light of the current conditions. The police in my area are required to "qualify" each month, and shoot hundreds of rounds to prove they are proficient with their weapons.

She is most definitely brain washing your kids. Wait until one of them tells you that Jehovah is going to kill you.

I wouldn't want the younger children exposed to pioneering. Visiting strangers homes, dirty homes, unverified people near your child. Not to mention small children being forced into cult work and not being able to just be a kid and play or nap or learn.

I read an article from a Millennial the other day - they think love and tolerance is going to solve this. Yeah right.

Bret Weinstein: Evergreen State College Racism Controversy
by Simon ingreat discussion, well worth watching.
covers racism, the bubble that some people live in vs the reality that resulted in trumps election and more (and jws get a mention too).. the rubin report (and many of the guests he has on) repeatedly knock it out of the park with sensible, calm and important analysis and commentary on important issues to our society.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-feapcgxnyy.

Having a degree does not mean you had rich parents or even comfortable parents. I know plenty of people who have degrees that paid for school themselves.(myself included) But when you are the one footing the bill you don't fool around with nonsense like this, you literally have no time between school and working. I think the bigger problem is the entitlement these college students are displaying.

Day 1: The Night of Anger, Tears, and Pain
by Saethydd inmy freedom came with a heavy cost.
i couldn't stand the dishonesty so when my sister went out of town on a trip i told my parents that i no longer wanted to be a jw.
when my sister got back and i told her she was so angry, said she really wanted to slap me, then she ran off sobbing, a few minutes later she deposited every gift i ever gave her in front of my door.. my entire family has turned against me.

I am sorry you are going through this. You are never responsible for how another person behaves. You are only responsible for you. JWs always try to make their bad behavior your fault, then it absolves them of responsibility for their actions ( at least in their twisted world). They are acting badly, it is their choice to act badly. It is a blatant attempt to manipulate you, if you can see it for what it is, it becomes ineffective. ❤️ And hugs - it gets better with time.

Feeling Alone. Need Emotional Support.
by Doubtfully Yours inplease chime in if you're one of my kindred spirit that happens to literally be trapped in due to strong family/friends ties, or plain fear of being abandoned in old age.. although leaving the org is my ultimate wish and desire, fear of the unknown, fear of how it would change my family dinamics, plain fear alone paralyzes me.
how do you cope in this difficult situation?
dy.

For all of the worse case scenarios I imagined would happen if I left, none of them were as bad as I imagined. AND the freedom and success were better than I could have imagined. Being free is worth any sacrifice.
You will make new friends if you allow yourself to. You will find new interests and they can all be of your own choosing.

How do you talk to a child that believes Jehovah/Armageddon is real
by Anony Mous ini'm having some serious issues with my child, she is now 5 and her mother is teaching her all sorts of things regards god, jehovah is real, in heaven, pray if you're scared, etc.
the problem is the kid is scared of demons at night and also conflicted that i don't believe, she also figured out jehovah doesn't actually help her not to be scared.. i've tried explaining that i'm there for her, watching over at night.
i've tried introducing her to various churches and beliefs so she understands there is a difference in believes and she likes those churches better than kingdom hall.

For my niece, I told her different people believe different things. And that I didn't believe in that kind of thing, and it was up to her if she believed in it or not. And I assured her she didn't need to worry about me dying at Armageddon I would be ok.
